Digg has launched its new version and it has shared behind the scene pictures of engineers working on the New Digg to ensure it has a smooth release. The New Digg and its features were covered on this site earlier during its alpha testing phase.

The pics were posted on Twitter by Kevin Rose(Founder of Digg) and Chas Edwards(Publisher and Chief Revenue Officer at Digg). The New Digg is very similar to Twitter and it hopes to bring that Social networking element within the site.

To give the New Digg a try, I logged into my account and got an Unknown error. I understand this is a teething problem but who is Will? Everytime I refreshed or clicked any other link I got different Names of Developers.
When I clicked to atleast check what my followers were upto , I got the error “Unable to more profiles” quite contrary to what Digg’s Founder tweeted a while ago, “The new version of Digg up & running smoothly, thx to our amazing engineers & QA team! I hope Digg soon sorts out its issues”.

Twitter is abuzz with the news and reviews about the New Digg. While some people have liked it, others have buried the new version and calling it an end of Digg.
Did Digg users ever wanted to have a Social profile or they were just happy with the older Digg? Will the New Digg bring in new audience who want a Facebook like experience? Well, Time will give answers to all these questions. Till then, keep Digging !!
