MySpace Upgrades User Home Page For Musicians And Bands

by Shashank on June 5, 2011

MySpace has refreshed the homepage of musicians and bands adding new features and giving bands a sleeker dashboard. The new homepage now integrates the Facebook app that allows bands connect their Facebook Pages to MySpace accounts. Als0, bands have an upload options and few other tools to input their content. Above the status share box, you can toggle between your band activity stats and the user stream. The changes are band specific, which means and you and I won’t notice any change in our homepage. The new design focuses on the stream, sharing, topics and music.

The design was earlier rolled out in New Zealand for beta testing and today the company has made the feature available worldwide. Additional changes include Topics on top left, Friends on top left, Playlists on top left, Stream video player top middle and the addition of Share button.

The company had initially planned to push conversations on the site. However, it looks like Myspace had to fall back on music content which has been its strength and a differentiating factor in this crowded social media market.
