This could just be the turn-around Google was hoping for. After witnessing slump for past few weeks, Google+ is showing massive growth in number of users on the site. According to Hitwise, after the site opened up to public, Google+ witnessed a sharp spike in market share of visits for the site, with a 1269% growth from the week ending September 17th to the week of September 24th. The site also received nearly 15 million total US visits last week. The company also notes that Google+ has moved past the “Early adopters ” phase, and is now into “Early Majority [...]

Facebook and Google are mutating into social demons – each one trying to outdo the other to be more social. If you log onto Facebook now, you will understand what I am speaking about. The company has launched so many features in such a short span of time that you would be forgiven for thinking you logged into some other social networking site. Google on its behalf is turning its properties social by closely knitting them with Google+. Ever since its launch, the company has made more than 100 changes in Google+, and the effects of being social is trickling [...]

Guest Post By Mitesh Kothari Who Is A Social Media Manager At WatConsult. You Can Follow Him At @miteshkothari Yesterday I found myself is a discussion with a friend who believes Google+ will not survive and obviously she is not alone lot of people are making the same point and sighting falling rate of interaction and their own absence from the social network as the main reason. So my discussion with the friend led me to assess and make my points which all are “in favor” of Google+. Seems like off lately I am siding with tech that people believe will not [...]

google+ api

My previous post about Google+ received a great response from readers. I literally wrote-off Google+ because of its slow paced approach in rolling out new features. At least now, the company has made a positive start by launching the API for Google+. In its blog post, the company announced the news and said that the project brings the nuance and richness of real-life sharing to software. “We started with Google’s own products, added the +1 button for site owners and content publishers, and introduced games from a handful of partners. That’s just the beginning though — we want every one of [...]

Larry Page - Caricature

When was the last time you posted an update on Google+? few days ago?…. probably weeks? Well, you are not the only one losing interest in the site — and reasons for it are out there in the open. Lets just sit back and deconstruct them one by one and understand why the site is failing to capture the imagination of users. by Shashank on September 1, 2011

plusclout

Yes I meant Clout, not Klout! The makers of FindPeopleOnPlus.com have launched PlusClout, a service that measures social influence on Google+. The site borrows the idea from Klout and adapts it to Google+. The site takes into consideration data from FindPeopleOnPlus.com to arrive at the score. With 15 million public Google+ profiles and items shared (posts, comments, +1′s etc.), PlusClout uses numerous public variables like number of followers, frequency and volume of information sharing etc. Mix in some mathematics and you have a PlusClout score. So, who are the most influential people on Google+? No surprises, they are all geeks! [...]

google share

This is a major one. Google has just announced that its “+1″ button will sport two new features to make it more handy. The update solves one the most common complaints of the button — that it offers no incentive to click it. Thus, Google has rolled out a Share and a snippet view feature to tackle the problem. Sharing with your circles on Google+ When you click on the “+1″ button, apart from sharing it on the search engine results, you can now share the webpages on your Google+ profiles. While it works exactly like the Facebook Share button, [...]

Android Market Gets “+1″ Button

by Shashank on August 23, 2011

android google plus

Google has added its popular social media button “+1″ to the Android market. The button appears beside the applications — and allows users to click on it right within the market interface. The addition will mean users can now gauge how popular an app is based on number of +1′s. While user reviews have served their purpose in weeding out poor apps, +1 will serve as an additional layer of confirmation. It also lets users share their favorite apps on Google+, thereby lending additional visibilty for apps. The introduction of +1 button is a part of new Android version v3.1.3, [...]

So much has already been written about the rapid rise of Google+ and the eventual slow down in past few weeks. But, where Google+ is yet to score is gaining mainstream users; people from entertainment industry or influential people from different walks of life. Currently Google+ is dominated by techies who believe Google+ is the next big thing. But are others buying this argument? So, Socmetrics studied activity of mainstream audience, moms in particular, on Google+ and the results were far from surprising. In fact, “Moms” was the only mainstream segment in Top 25. And it ranks 19th compared to [...]
